In the wake of the blitzkrieg against all the institutions that unite us, I believe it would be prudent to postpone our discussion on Claire Denis’s African works. Instead, let’s focus on more pressing concerns in the Americas. By employing the lens of Brazil’s recent past and present, we can explore the potential trajectory of the United States.
For me, this detour began with Walter Salles’ Academy Award-winning feature film, “I’m Still Here.” The film delves into Brazil’s recent past. Petra Costa’s “The Edge Of Democracy” further explores Brazil’s recent past and present.  1We will resume our regular schedule discussion in September.
